Vacuum brazed drills have been specifically engineered to penetrate hard tiles. These drills take advantage of the fact that diamond is one of the few materials that is harder than porcelain. Thus, they have the ability to drill through even the toughest tiles. Despite being designed primarily for hard tiles, these drills are also highly effective in drilling ceramics, fibreglass, marble, and other similarly dense materials. The range of vacuum brazed drills is available in various sizes, from 6mm to an impressive 225mm diameter. The 6mm drill is particularly well-suited for 6.5mm wall plugs that can be used to attach bathroom fittings. All of these drills are equipped with an M14 thread, which allows them to be used on an angle grinder at high speeds, maximizing drilling efficiency. For diameters larger than 35mm, we advise using optional drill attachments and operating them on an SDS or standard drill chuck.
The lifespan of these drills varies depending on the material, drilling depth, and operating conditions. Wet drilling, in general, is known to increase the lifespan of the drills. Based on our experience, we anticipate that the drill will last between 4 (when used on the hardest 20mm porcelain tile) to 40 holes (when used on marble). Additionally, drills up to 12mm come with a wax-filled core, which is designed to melt during use, thus lubricating the drill hole and speeding up drilling times.
