Gibson Faulds Scutch Tooth Comb Claw Holder | Hammer Headed 2" (50mm)
Accelerate your stone dressing and surface preparation with the genuine Gibson Faulds Scutch Tooth Comb Claw Holder (2 Inch / 50mm). Proudly forged in the UK from premium high-carbon tool steels, this professional-grade masonry hand tool is engineered specifically for heavy stock removal, rapid surface leveling, cleaning bricks, and architectural stone chasing.
Featuring a meticulously hardened and tempered tapered slot, this 50mm scutch holder provides an exact-tolerance friction fit for your comb bits. The robust flat "Hammer Head" striking shank is optimized for repetitive impact from traditional steel masons’ dummy hammers or club hammers, dispersing striking shock evenly to protect the tool body from premature mushrooming or fracturing.
Key Features & Benefits:
• Hardened Tapered Slot: Engineered with a specialized taper that keeps 50mm scutch comb bits or plain droves securely seated during heavy chiselling.
• High-Carbon Tool Steel: Forged by G. Gibson & Co. (UK) to withstand intensive trade workloads without bending or losing structural integrity.
• Fast Bit Interchanging: Tips are simply friction-pressed or tapped in against a hard surface for immediate deployment, and dislodged with a gentle sideways tap after use.
• Hammer-Headed Profile: Features a wide, durable striking face coated in an anti-corrosive black paint finish to handle rigorous manual hammer work.
Optimized Materials & Applications:
• Ideal Work: Surface rendering prep, cleaning old lime mortar or cement off reclaimed bricks, leveling stone faces, and routing out precise chases.
• Material Compatibility: Suitable for holding specialized scutch combs or plain bits for working with soft stones, marbles, and masonry.
