ZEC SEMIFLEXIBLE DISCS 180 x 22.2mm 80 Grit Z626 180ZECSF60
The ZEC Semiflexible Discs 180 x 22.2mm 80 Grit (Part Number: Z626) are industrial-grade heavy duty abrasive wheels made in Italy, designed for high-efficiency surface grinding and material removal.
Unlike rigid grinding stones or standard fiber sanding paper, the ZEC Semiflex structure features a multi-layered coat of premium silicon carbide bonded onto a 2.0mm thick heavy-duty fiber backing support. They are explicitly designed to be paired with a corresponding 140mm supportive backing pad on large 7" hand grinding tools, sander-polishers, or angle grinders.
Key Performance Features
• Dynamic Flexibility: The disc naturally achieves its optimal flexible profile after 1 to 2 minutes of continuous high-speed rotation on the tool. Because it adapts dynamically under load, it absorbs harsh vibrations, reducing operator fatigue and increasing grinding control on uneven masonry or steel.
• Ventilated/Perforated Surface Pattern: Constructed with deliberate perforated holes across the abrasive layers. This design continuously throws out dust, scrap fragments, and slurry, preventing surface loading while ensuring the work surface remains cool to stop substrate burning or melting.
• 80 Grit Performance Profile: Serves as a medium-coarse grit choice. It bridges the gap between pure bulk stock extraction (like ultra-coarse 16/24/36 grits) and fine smoothing work, making it highly effective for controlled removal of thinner coatings, leveling concrete joins, and cleaning up rough stone edges.
• Wide Material Suitability: The industrial-grade silicon carbide configuration makes it exceptionally versatile across diverse trades:
• Flooring & Concrete: Stripping epoxy coatings, paint, sealers, urethane, mastic, and surface preparation on masonry, marble, and granite slabs.
• Metal & Marine: Rust removal from heavy steel sections, cleaning non-ferrous metals like aluminium, and removing marine barnacles or scaling from fiberglass hulls
